Service boost for Deaf and Hard of Hearing jobseekers

Deaf-led organisaton Action Deafness aims to boost employment prospects for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people by offering a dedicated service as part of the Government’s Work Programme throughout the UK.

The charity is set to provide tailored services in partnership with the main providers already named under the Government initiative designed to help people into sustainable work by offering them the skills and support they need.

Action Deafness believes it is uniquely placed to offer expertise in a way which best engages with the D/deaf community – by widely using D/deaf people already highly skilled and trained who have empathy, firsthand experience and appropriate communication expertise.
