Pippa Middleton visits Mary Hare School for deaf children

Kate Middleton's 28 year old sister - Pippa visited Mary Hare school for deaf children in Newbury, Berkshire close to her home.

It has been confirmed that Pippa did not visit on behalf of her sister, but she was embracing her new role in the public eye.

"Pippa is very keen to give something back and she's open to charity work."

Princess Diana took a keen interest in charity work, one of them being the British Deaf Association, the oldest Deaf organisation in the UK, becoming a patron in 1983.

Diana showed her abilities and skills learnt by signing at the BDA Congress in 1992 - click here to watch the clip

Watch this space to see how Pippa gets on - lets hope that she follows in the footstep of the Princess of Wales, signing in the public domain and making the public aware of Deaf people and the use of British Sign Language.
